Soccer for Children with Disabilities
Essex County Youth Soccer Association, through our outstanding member organizations, strives to provide safe and fun developmental and playing opportunities for all children in the ECYSA area. There are, however, many thousands of children whose physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities prevent or deter them from participating in our traditional youth soccer activities.
TOPSoccer, established by US Youth Soccer over 30 years ago, is designed to give these children with disabilities the same chance to enjoy the well-documented physical, emotional and social benefits provided by the game we all love that their “normally abled” friends and siblings currently enjoy.

ECYSA has embraced TOPSoccer as part of our core programming and we encourage and support our members in doing the same. Our goal is that every child with a disability will have access to a TOPSoccer program in or near their hometown.
